Description
Riverside,Bulgaria
Located in the picturesque village of Madjare, which is nestled in a stunning pine valley alongside the River Iskar.
This developement is in the Borovets area, Bulgarias biggest and best ski resort!
The Riverside, is a beautifully designed development located only 50 minutes from the capital of Sofia. It is only 10 minutes away from the lively ski resort of Borovets, which has incredible plans for expansion named the ‘Super Borovets Project’.
The Project is to have 300 million euros invested in the improvement and development of Borovets and the surrounding areas. The size of the resort is set to triple in the next few years, to aid Bulgaria’s bid to compete with other European resorts to host the 2014 winter Olympics.
An area known as Beli Iskar is only 2 minutes from the Riverside apartments and is set to soon benefit from a brand new lift system which will take you high up into the Rila Mountains. Also we have been advised of another lift which will link between our village, Madjare and Borovets, as part of the Super Borovets Project.
Due for completion in December 2006, The Riverside will consist of one building containing 24 individual units split into four floors. Each apartment varies in size and benefits from a unique layout, with a separate ski locker room.
All will be splendidly finished in accordance with high standards of quality and style. The attractive apartment complex is designed in the traditional architectural style of Borovets using stone and wood combined with the necessary requirements of modern day living.
Apartments will benefit from:
- Laminate floors throughout
- Fitted Kitchen
- Fitted Bathroom *
- Intercom System
- Furniture package etc **
* One bedroom apartments will have a shower, while the two bedroomed apartments will have a shower and a bath.

Super Borovets Project
It is predicted that by 2009 Borovets will look very different to the way it looks today. This is already evident from the construction that is currently underway.
The resort is set to spread from Samokov through the current Borovets to our village Madjare. Madjare is where the Riverside apartments are currently being built and is certainly going to be one of the preferred areas to be.
The expansion of the resort will make it an all year round holiday destination with activities to satisfy all for rest and recreation.
Existing facilities will be improved while other areas will be vastly expanded.
Two new cable cars will be constructed, one of which will connect to the town of Samokov and another to Beli Iska at the foot of the Rila Mountains. This is known as “Iskrovete” and will directly link the village with a ski lift and run to the slopes at Goverdartsi, Beli Iskar and Borovets.
Several additional ski pistes will be constructed in Borovets and will be suitable for both beginners and mediate skiers. The aim is to divide the pistes according to their difficulty as well as being connected via ski lifts; therefore skiers will be able to transfer from one piste to another. At present the lifts transfer approximately 2,000 people per hour, it is expected that the new lifts will increase that number to 10,000 people per hour.
There will also be new paths for walking, horse riding and mountain biking as well as hunting and fishing to enjoy during the summer months.
Two golf courses are to be constructed one north of Borovets and one near to the town of Samokov.
The project designers are conscious to preserve and protect the Rila mountains and “will pay great attention to the instructions of the ecology experts, in order not to harm nature”, says Mr Angel Nikolov.
The Super Borovets Project has been designed to aid Bulgaria’s bid to host the 2014 winter Olympics, setting the same high standards as other competing resorts.
Good infrastructure and asphalt roads will guide the way from Sofia airport and will be maintained and cleared during the winter months.
The area is ideal as it is only 50km from the capital city of Sofia and only 50 minutes from the International Airport, which is also scheduled for expansion with a new terminal to be opened in April 2007.
As an investor or someone hoping to buy a holiday home at a great price, possibly now is the time. Bulgaria is now without a doubt securely placed on the map and things are only going to get better as development progresses.
In conclusion the Super Borovets Project is an opportunity to be part of Bulgaria’s leap into the 21st century.
